How your company can get involved

How your company can get involved

We can help support you throughout the partnership and can tailor the support you offer to your company objectives. We are very keen to hear from you should you want to get involved and help us make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable children.

How your company can get involved:

Choose us as Charity of the year

The Honeypot team has a history of delivering successful charity of the year partnerships with both large and small companies, including Sony Ericsson and Virgin Active and local Hampshire company Honeybuns.

With staff based at our head office in London and regional office in Hampshire, we can provide support, resources and inspiration to engage your staff with our mission and help them get motivated to make a real contribution to our work – both financial and practical.

A charity of the year partnership with Honeypot can involve a broad range of events and volunteering opportunities, making sure that the partnership is mutually successful.

Volunteer with us

We have many varied volunteering opportunities, and will work with you to create the one that meets your needs as well as providing genuine benefits to the Honeypot team, including:

o Get your team members involved as a carer on respite breaks at Honeypot House
o Send a team to help out with our Playbus team with their work in local communities
o Set up a companywide volunteer day maintaining the grounds at Honeypot House
o Volunteer at one of our events.

We are happy to help you get involved as much or as little as you can commit to, and will try to be as flexible as possible with what we can offer. We understand that you need to strike a balance between challenging your staff and teambuilding, whilst balancing your own workload.

Enter a team into one of our events

We hold annual corporate challenges, and you can encourage your staff to take part in one of a wide range of events, from wine dinners, bowling competitions, to challenge events from 5k to running marathons. We’ll support you all the way, offering training and fundraising tips to help your staff get the most out of it.

This year we created a new event based around Urban Golf in their flagship Kensington venue. We also hold an annual five a side football tournament.

We have some exciting new ideas for 2011 and beyond and feel this is a great way for teams of supporters to challenge themselves, with a bit of friendly competition!

Corporate hospitality

Many companies these days are looking for innovative ways of entertaining their staff and clients whilst making a positive impact on their work with charities.

Our experienced team can work with you to create bespoke corporate hospitality events to meet your needs. It is also possible to hire our facilities when not in use.

Our current supporters have hired our Playbus for a family day so that staff and their children can enjoy a fun focused day. We also host staff motivational days at Honeypot House and always receive lots of positive feedback about the impact this has had on motivation and productivity.

Cause related marketing

Cause-related marketing encourages the partnerships between ourselves and your company through which we assist in the marketing of a product or service for our mutual benefit.

Participation in cause-related marketing often leads to increased sales, press and PR coverage, and increased long-term customer loyalty. The popularity of cause related marketing is a real growth area and many companies are now reaping the rewards of such partnerships.

Other ways to support us

Payroll Giving:
A really easy way to raise funds to help us support more vulnerable children is by encouraging your employees to donate just one hour’s salary to Honeypot every month. A small, regular donation will go a long way! Payroll Giving is a way for your employees to make regular payments to our charity directly from their salary. People who receive their company/personal pension through PAYE (Pay As You Earn) can participate too.

Payments that your employees make through a Payroll Giving Scheme are deducted from their pay before tax is deducted. This means that employees are given tax relief on their donation immediately – and at their highest rate of tax.

It’s easy to set up a Payroll Giving Scheme for your business. There’s little in the way of cost and administration, and you’ll probably be able to adapt your existing payroll system to operate the scheme. For more information, please visit the HMRC website:

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/businesses/giving/payroll-giving.htm

Company Giving:
Company donations are an efficient way for you to make an immediate contribution to our work. Companies can also get tax relief on gifts of money to charities. Gifts of money made to a charity by your company should be paid gross – before tax is deducted. These donations are deductible from the total profits of your business when calculating Corporation Tax.

The charity doesn’t need to make a Gift Aid tax repayment claim because no tax has been paid. The charity can claim exemption from tax on company donations. For more information, please visit the HMRC website:

Case Studies

Here we shine a spotlight on one of most recent supporters; Computershare Voucher Services (CVS).

CVS adopted Honeypot as their Charity of the Year in 2010 as they felt it was a natural match for their own work supporting families in facilitating childcare. One of their objectives was about engaging their staff in practical activities, and to help staff and clients stay up to date with the partnership work, they have been posting regularly on their blog.

They started off by sponsoring a number of children for a 2 year period with Honeypot, and have posted information about the impact their donations have made on real children. CVS also hosted a family day and invited the Honeypot Playbus team to help them with their office fundraising, The day was a great success and enjoyed by everyone.

Staff are really motivated to help us with our work and a number of volunteering days and fundraising challenges are in progress, such as spring cleaning at Honeypot House, to climbing Mount Snowdon!
