Ambassadors

Honeypot is fortunate to be supported by a number of passionate individuals, all of whom are dedicated to raise awareness of young carers, promote our work as widely as possible and encourage more people to support us.

If you are interested in supporting The Honeypot Children’s Charity as an Ambassador, please contact simon@honeypot.org.uk.

Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal player Gabriel Martinelli joined us as an Ambassador in November 2021 to raise awareness of the cause and motivate our children to believe in their dreams.

“I have great memories of my childhood… always playing football, making new friends and being outdoors for most of the time. Unfortunately, many kids never really have the opportunity to experience childhood to the fullest. That’s the case of many young carers here in the UK and anywhere around the world. Due to different circumstances, these kids are forced to take care of some of their relatives from a very young age. That isn’t fair and we should help out these kids. That’s why I’ve started to work with Honeypot, an organization that provides young carers the opportunity to be children and to build a brighter future.”

Steven Mackintosh

Steven began supporting us back in 2018, fronting our Carers Week campaign. “It's hard to imagine how tough covid must have been for these young carers, for them to have Honeypot and their incredible projects, the chance to be free and play, create and be children again, to have respite from their daily lives is priceless.”

Dan Snow

Iconic presenter and historian Dan Snow has supported Honeypot since late 2013. “The Honeypot Children’s Charity and I share the same ethos around helping young carers to reach their full potential. It’s the real and tangible difference that Honeypot makes to these young children that keeps me going and I hope that I can motivate others to get involved with this inspirational charity. I am happy and proud to become an ambassador of the Honeypot Children’s Charity.”

Thupayal Hussain, Executive Director, Goldman Sachs

He has experienced the difficulties young carers face first hand when he cared for his mum from the age of 15. “Managing home life and school life together is a burden which requires you to make lots of sacrifices a young child shouldn’t make - but must. I look forward to continue working with Honeypot, and sharing my experience with others, but most importantly, allowing young carers to see someone like me and realise their caring responsibilities will not define what and who they become.”

English Footballers Foundation

The England Footballers Foundation supported us from 2015 to 2016, helping to raise awareness of young carers, making special appearances, meeting our young carers, donated match fees and raised funds through their annual Gala Dinner to raise £100,000 for the Honeypot Children’s Charity.

Abbie Brown

Abbie Brown became an ambassador of the Honeypot Children’s Charity in late 2017. Abbie is one of the young stars of the England Women’s Sevens Rugby team, and has captained the side. “I feel very honoured to be given this role as ambassador for the Honeypot Children’s Charity, and I hope I’ll be able to help the charity raise awareness of their work with young carers. I’m really excited about sharing my values with the charity and helping them on their journey, and spending more time with all the amazing kids!”
