Making Memories One Slice at a Time

Young Carers Enjoy Unforgettable Day of Creativity and Fun at Parkside Yards, Southall

Young Carers were treated to a day filled with laughter, creativity, and fun at Parkside Yards, all thanks to the generous partnership of St. George and Honeypot.

The day kicked off with an hour of clay hand-building led by Mandie from Open Ealing, where the young carers had the opportunity to mold and decorate their own cylinder vase. Armed with materials like netting and lace, each young carer poured their heart into creating a unique masterpiece. For those who wished to add a splash of color, the option to paint their creations was warmly welcomed.

Pizza making

Following the clay session, the excitement continued with Pizza Making with Pinsafresco. The young carers took part in shaping the dough, smothering their pizzas in fresh tomato sauce and choosing what toppings they wanted on them, until it was placed into the pizza oven to ultimately be devoured!

Arts & craft

The final activity centered around crafting memory boxes to gift or keep their things in at home. Each participant was also tasked with creating a cardboard sculpture or large 3d objects. The volunteers were extremely helpful in helping get the creative juices flowing!

I just wanted to say a big thank for all your help and to the rest of the team at Honeypot for giving our young carers the opportunity to attend a Memory Making Day.

Staff said that all the children who attended had an amazing time and that the activities were fantastic.
