Honeypot House Hampshire

Honeypot House in the New Forest National Park is where it all began for our charity almost 25 years ago. Home to five species of deer, badgers, squirrels, many smaller mammals, lizards and rare birds, the New Forest’s ancient woodlands and heaths are also grazed by ponies, donkeys, cows, pigs and sheep owned by ”commoners”. It is a landscape and a way of life in many ways unchanged for hundreds of years – truly the perfect place for children to take a break from their day-to-day worries.

It sits in seven acres of beautiful gardens which include woodland, meadows, a stream and a lake. We have extensive outdoor play equipment including a ”trim trail”, zip wire, trampoline and swings, a basketball court, go-karts and bicycles, a playing field, art studio, play shack and guinea pig corner. Inside we have lots of toys, books, games and dressing up outfits, and a huge comfy sofa covered in cushions and blankets ready for movie night with hot chocolate and marshmallows! Our pool is currently in need of repair, with fundraising underway to gain the required funds.

It is such a lovely place - I actually think that the view as I come down from the hills towards Newtown, which is where it is, is the most scenic spot on my drive back to Chester, but it also just felt like such a safe and well thought out space for young carers.

Honeypot Pen Y Bryn

Idyllically located in Powys, Honeypot Pen y Bryn is a tastefully converted Welsh chapel that sits amongst the rolling hills and beautiful scenery of Mid Wales. There’s a large open plan living space for playing and relaxing, a huge dining table for tasty shared meals, three children’s bedrooms and three bedrooms for staff. There are four members of staff on each break so there is always an adult nearby if needed. All children spend time in the house each day, it’s where everyone comes together to eat, bake, play and have fun. There are lots of great books to read and we have movie nights in here too!

We have our own large gardens for safe play and adventures that include three trampolines, lots of bicycles, mud kitchen, water slip-slide, and galleon play area. We have great indoor play spaces in ”The Hive” where toys, games and a whole range of arts and crafts can be found. Our Memory Tree, where children can display their favourite memories from each break, is in the Hive too. And if this is not enough to delight young carers, our beautiful indoor heated swimming pool is equipped with water toys and games, floats, and inflatables for a splashing good time to be enjoyed all year round.

Honeypot Dalleagles

Opened in July 2023 our Scottish home is situated in the beautiful Countryside in Ayrshire. The house has a fabulous library filled with books, hosting reading sessions with local authors. The views of the stunning Ayrshire Countryside from the bedrooms are breathtaking, with a large kitchen perfect for baking treats, plus, the yummy apple’s from our apple trees that are growing in the front garden!

We are currently in the next stage of expansion and building a learning space similar to the Hive in our other houses, if you would like to help get in touch.
