Cleaning Up for a Cause

27 August 2026

There was plenty of activity at Honeypot Pen y Bryn this week as we welcomed the team from Binit for a special launch event ahead of September’s Challenge for Change campaign.

The Binit team joined young carers enjoying a Respite Break at our Welsh house for a morning of litter picking, recycling and fun, while also getting the chance to see first-hand the difference Honeypot’s support makes to young carers and children experiencing difficult circumstances.

Before arriving at Pen y Bryn House, the Binit team got stuck into a litter pick around Newtown, helping to make a positive difference in the local community. They then joined us at the house, where the children took on a creative recycling challenge, transforming everyday recycled materials into imaginative new creations.

The event marked the start of Binit’s involvement in this year’s Challenge for Change – The Continental Challenge. Throughout September, Binit will be encouraging people to get outside, clock up kilometres and pick up litter along the way, combining fundraising for Honeypot with making a positive difference in their own communities.

Binit has already given the campaign a fantastic head start with a generous £10,000 donation to Honeypot.

Ajmal Khan, Director at Binit, said:

“We chose Honeypot because its work shares that same spirit of making a positive difference to children and communities. It was fantastic for our team to spend time at Honeypot Pen y Bryn, get involved with the children and see Honeypot’s work first-hand.”

Simmi Woodwal, Honeypot CEO, said:

“We were delighted to welcome Binit to Pen y Bryn House and officially kick-start their Challenge for Change campaign. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and having fun together, while also doing something positive for the environment. We are incredibly grateful for Binit’s £10,000 donation and for everything they will be doing throughout September to raise funds and awareness for Honeypot.”

A huge thank you to everyone at Binit for such a brilliant start. We can’t wait to see how many kilometres, bags of litter and pounds raised they clock up during September!
