Honeypot Zip Wire Success

Flying High at the Honeypot Zip Wire Challenge
On October 16th, fifty brave Honeypot supporters took part in our first ever zip wire challenge. Taking to the skies, our intrepid team of corporate partners, former volunteers, and fundraising heroes flew over the pitch at the Allianz Stadium, Twickenham, showing that checking off a bucket list moment can also help to support Honeypot in offering young carers a much needed break..
We partnered with Big Bang Experiences to plan our zip wire challenge, giving fifty thrill-seeking supporters the opportunity to take on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in the home of English rugby. The zip wire stretched from the upper tier to the lower tier on the other side of the pitch, spanning a hair-raising 150m. And so, the stage was set for our brave bumblebees to fly through the sky in their Honeypot stripes.
The Honeypot zip wire fundraising team
To make the most of the zip wire challenge, we welcomed a team of fifty Honeypot supporters who were ready for an adrenaline-filled adventure to help us raise money. Our team included senior partners from our longstanding corporate partner Addleshaw Goddard, along with partners Angular Legal and international law firm CMS.
As well as our corporate partners, we were joined by our ambassadors Matthew & Ryan, who were brave enough to overcome their fear of heights in order to take on the zip wire challenge. Last but not least, our guest of honour was Viv Carter, who has recently retired from her dedicated tenure as the Community Engagement Manager at Honeypot Hampshire. Viv took on the challenge to celebrate her time with Honeypot, and we think it’s a great way to kick her retirement off in style!
Our zip wire adventurers raised thousands for Honeypot
Thanks to the dedication of our zip wire fundraisers, Honeypot received a total of more than £16,000 in donations! We are extremely appreciative to everybody who donated to a zip wire fundraiser and grateful to all of our supporters who raised money for Honeypot. Not only have you all smashed the zip wire challenge, but you have raised thousands of pounds to support young carers and children facing difficult circumstances.
All money raised in the Honeypot zip wire challenge will contribute to our Respite Breaks, Health & Wellbeing Breaks, and Wellbeing Grants. Honeypot’s mission is to support young people facing difficult circumstances including care responsibilities. All donations to our fundraising events allow us to give more young carers a chance to take a break from their responsibilities and enjoy a weekend playing and laughing with other children.
