Honeypot Hampshire

Blackfield | The New Forest

Where it all started! Honeypot Hampshire was our first house, opened in 1996. Nestled in the magical New Forest National Park, about 15 miles from Southampton and close to local beaches for further exploring. The house welcomes children from London, the South and South East.

It's home to five species of deer, badgers, squirrels, many smaller mammals, lizards and rare birds. The ancient woodlands and heaths are also grazed by ponies, donkeys, cows, pigs and sheep owned by 'commoners'. It is a landscape and a way of life in many ways unchanged for hundreds of years – truly the perfect place for children to take a break from their day-to-day worries.

The house sits in seven acres of beautiful gardens which include woodland, meadows, a stream and a lake. We have extensive outdoor play equipment including a trim trail, zipwire, trampoline, swings, a basketball court, go-karts and bicycles, a playing field, art studio, play shack and a hobby hut. Inside we have lots of toys, books, games and dressing up outfits, and a huge comfy sofa covered in cushions and blankets ready for movie night with hot chocolate and marshmallows!

I have over 16 years of experience working with young people, including in schools and youth centres. After visiting Honeypot House in the New Forest and learning more about the charity I wanted to be part of something special. It is great to be able to support the team here to provide a place for children to come and have breaks and fun with other children who understand what they are going through.

I joined Honeypot in 2022 after working as a teaching assistant for 16 years. I am passionate about letting children try new things in a safe environment. Letting them create life-long friendships and memories that they can treasure is so rewarding. I feel very lucky to work with these incredible children.

I’ve been part of the Honeypot family since 2022. My role is all about supporting children with their social and emotional wellbeing - helping them grow confidence, resilience, and skills they can take with them long after their Honeypot adventure ends, back home and at school. You’ll usually find me getting creative, sharing a good giggle, and helping children make magical Honeypot memories that last a lifetime. Whether it’s trying something new, overcoming a challenge, or celebrating small wins, we do it together - with lots of positivity, encouragement, and fun along the way!

I joined Honeypot in 2024, and my role is to help ensure every child has a break they will always remember. Many of the children are young carers at home, so it is incredibly rewarding to give them the opportunity to enjoy their childhood, build lifelong friendships, and create memories they will cherish forever. Working with the children at Honeypot is truly an amazing and fulfilling role.

Children's Services

Coordinator

I work closely with schools and local organisations to find and support young carers. From Respite Breaks, Memory Making Days and additional projects throughout the year. I manage everything behind the scenes, from sourcing young carers and making first contact, to organising travel, coordinating logistics, and handling all day‑to‑day admin. This means I’m involved from start to finish, right through to the final drop‑off.

I have worked for Honeypot since 2018. I am also a teaching assistant in SEN schools across the creative arts and a self-employed artist and musician, including teaching piano and playing harp at events. My musical activities support engagement and communication for early years and wraparound care.
