BEE Wild - The Honeypot Party 2024

On Thursday, 7th March 2024 300 guests at The ‘BEE Wild’ Honeypot Party brought the Banqueting suite at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, to life. Together, guests contributed an amazingly generous £300,000. These donations will substantially contribute to Honeypot being able to support thousands of young carers over the year.

Immersing in the ‘BEE WILD’ theme, Honeypot supporters dressed in a variety of stunning, wild, bright colours and prints!!  Party Co-Chairperson and Honeypot Trustee Natalie Rebeiz looked the bees knees and totally in the spirit of the evening with knitted bees sewn on to her dress!!  Thanks to an amazing volunteer from Hampshire who supplied the unique knitted bee accessories!

The evening was filled with fun and laughter by its MC,  the fabulously flamboyant comedienne Ria Lina.  Ria had previously brought the house down at a night in aid of Honeypot at the Comedy store. As many supporters wanted more, it was a joy to have Ria bring sparkle to Honeypot’s BEE WILD Party.

Freddie Porter of The Richard Porter Family Foundation provided a poignant and moving speech.  Freddie inspired guests, recounting how he visited Honeypot House many years ago to see just how Honeypot brings joy and happiness into disadvantaged young carers lives. Freddie also shared that he has seen over several years how Honeypot has continued to transform more and more young carers lives. Capturing just how special and unique young carers are, Freddie called them ‘superheroes’.

Simmi Woodwal, Honeypots' CEO, was delighted to present awards to three supporters on the evening for their outstanding contribution, while recognising that every Honeypot supporter is greatly valued and appreciated. The recipients were Piers Clanford on behalf of  St George PLC,  Stephen Ross on behalf of The Betty Messenger Charitable Foundation, and Mrs Porter on behalf of The Richard Porter Family Foundation. These contributors have made a monumental impact on Honeypots' ability to support more young carers and meet their needs more comprehensively. This they have helped to achieve by underwriting the cost of our third house in Scotland and helping to make great improvements at our other Houses. We are extremely grateful for their overwhelmingly generous support!

The guests were cared for throughout the evening by our fabulous Co-Chairpersons, Mary Davis and Natalie Rebeiz, our wonderful table hosts, our event organisers, Velvet 20, our team of Honeypot staff , Sophie, Georgina, Viv, and an amazing small army of NatWest volunteers. Volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the night to ensure that an unforgettably high quality evening was had by all. Honeypot extends a sincere thank you to everyone who worked to make the Party a great success. Special thanks to The NatWest volunteer’s. Their enthusiasm and energy in helping with the raffle, donations and spotting the live auction was indispensable. Also, to our fabulous sketchers @SketchedbySiena Thank you for your hard work!

The evening ended with the joyful Riccardi Brothers Band getting everyone on the dancefloor!

Thank you to everyone for ‘BEEing’ wild with us and showing your support for Honeypot and the many young carers you help us to support.
