Parents perform for Honeypot 🎤

Stagecoach Performing Arts in Totton held a ‘Parents Do Stagecoach’ event last Saturday in aid of Honeypot. The parents sang, danced and acted, having a go at the activities their children enjoy every week.

Two stagecoach sessions were opened up to parents, with donations asked for their participation. Each session ran for 3 hours and the parents worked hard to learn their choreographed dance steps, the harmonies in their song and focus their minds on getting into character for their drama improvisation. At the end of the session they performed in front of the children (who also thoroughly enjoyed it!).

The performance I saw in the afternoon was super! It looked like lots of fun (and quite a bit of challenge too) and we were all tapping our feet and singing along too.

They raised over £416.68 for Honeypot, this will fund a Wellbeing Grant for 2 young carers. Some of our Wellbeing Fund grants have enabled young carers aged 5-12 to attend activities like Stagecoach (and other classes like piano lessons, ballet lessons etc). Honeypot currently supports 36 children from the Totton postcode area. A creative outlet for young carers is essential in helping them smile and simply be children whilst taking a break from looking after someone they love!
