Honeypot Celebrates 30 Years!

The Honeypot Children’s Charity is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, marking three decades of life-changing support for young carers and other children across the UK (aged 5–12) who need additional support.

Founded in 1996, Honeypot supports children who take on caring responsibilities for sick or disabled loved ones - often from a very young age, as well as children affected by loss, instability, or other pressures at home that can impact their confidence and wellbeing. Over the past 30 years, the charity has supported more than 25,000 children through its residential respite breaks, outreach services and family support.

The scale of Honeypot’s impact is significant. To date, more than 17,000 children have attended respite breaks, over 1,300 have taken part in our Health and Wellbeing breaks, and more than 8,000 children have benefited from outreach services. The charity has also delivered over 45,000 birthday and Christmas gifts to children at home, alongside hundreds of wellbeing grants, food vouchers and leisure vouchers for families facing financial pressure.

The birthday celebrations have already attracted messages of support from well-known public figures, including actor Tom Holland, who praised the charity’s work supporting children with caring responsibilities.

Launching Our 30th Birthday Campaign: What’s Your 30?

To mark this milestone year, we have launched our ‘What’s Your 30?’ campaign, inviting people to celebrate with us in ways that feel meaningful to them.

Supporters are being encouraged to:

  • take part in 30 minutes of joy

  • fundraise in creative ways inspired by the number 30

  • share birthday messages and memories

  • help us spread the word about young carers and the challenges they face

Find our how you can get involved via the link below. Every act of support - big or small - helps us continue making happy memories and building brighter futures for young carers.

For 30 years, Honeypot has been a place where children carrying big responsibilities can simply be children. Our Patrons play a vital role in making that possible. Their belief in early intervention and consistent support allows us to create safe, nurturing spaces where confidence grows and anxiety begins to ease. We are deeply grateful for their ongoing commitment as we look towards the next 30 years

Messages of Support

As we celebrate our 30th birthday, we’ve been deeply touched by the messages of support we’ve received from across our community - including volunteers, partners, funders, and public figures. These can be seen on the campaign page here.

Spiderman actor Tom Holland shared his congratulations, saying:

Tom Holland, Actor

Congratulations to everyone at Honeypot for reaching this important 30th anniversary milestone. You are all doing an amazing job and I have huge respect for each and every one of you, caring for a loved one. Have a fantastic birthday and enjoy all the celebrations.
— Tom Holland

Messages like these reflect the strength of the Honeypot community - a network of people united by a belief that young carers deserve care, kindness and moments of joy too.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our corporate partner, Hotel Café Royal, who generously provided the venue and catering free of charge. Their continued partnership enables us to direct even more resources towards frontline services and the children who rely on us.

Finally, thank you to colleagues, volunteers and supporters across the charity whose dedication and care underpin everything we do. Evenings like this are a celebration not just of longevity, but of shared purpose. As we look ahead to the next 30 years, we remain focused on what matters most: creating happy memories and brighter futures for every child who walks through our doors.

The Honeypot Children’s Charity is the national charity for young carers aged five to twelve.
